MACKNADE LAUNCHES NEW BEER & BBQ FESTIVAL
Fanning the flames: Craft Brewers, BBQ Demos & Live Music
A brand-new event for the summer calendar, Beer & BBQ Fest (@beer_bbqfest) will see a celebration of sizzle as Macknade collaborates with brewers Time & Tide and the world-famous Big Green Egg!
On Saturday, July 6th, craft beer connoisseurs will be able to sample the country’s most exciting independent breweries, including Verdant Brewing Co, Cloudwater, Iron Pier Beer, Moot Brew, Kentish Pip, Track Brewing Co and Azvex Brewing Co.
There will be live music across the day with Coco, The Miles Cookman Band, The Moments Duo and more.
For fans of flame-cooking, the demonstrations are where it’s at, with some of the UK’s top live-fire chefs heading down to Faversham to show exactly why they lead the way on the BBQ scene. Make sure you register for your FREE ticket to be guaranteed access.
Andrew Clarke
Andrew is head chef at live-fire restaurant ACME Fire Cult in London, where all the dishes are cooked over fire in an outdoor kitchen. The restaurant stands out from other BBQ restaurants by leading with vegetables and focusing on low waste through its innovative use of by-products. Andrew also has an amazing pedigree, with more than 25 years in hospitality as both a chef and restaurateur at Brunswick House and St Leonards among others.
Julian Brown
Live-fire chef Julian Brown has brought the heat to some of London’s best live-fire restaurants, teaching and promoting the merits of efficient fire-cooking practices and sustainable solid fuels. When he’s not cooking or teaching, Brown manages and hosts numerous fire-stage activations at the likes of Taste of London, Meatopia and Ludlow Food Festival. Today he finds himself at the heart of the Kent food scene as head chef at Streets Bar & Kitchen in Margate.
Time & Tide Brewing
Time & Tide is a local indie-brewery making hop-forward juicy IPAs, lagers and sour beers. Its original brewery is just outside Deal and it also has a taproom at Macknade, where it has collaborated with Wild Box cocktails to create one of the hottest new drinking spots in Faversham. Founders Sam, Paul and Kerry have an uncompromising commitment to quality and a deep passion for creating full-flavoured beers that excite your palate.
