“Say, say, say you love me!”
We can’t say that, we don’t know you. But we do love your etherial synth-led trip-pop banger, that is floating its way into our heavy rotation on Spotify.

Smooth as silk but punctuated by a rhythmic drumbeat urging you to press play again, ‘Say’ is the latest track from the Kent four-piece Dutchkid.

A song about a subject revelling in the words of love, the track is a reminder that not all songs focused on the ‘L’ word need be a mush fest, or even I a raunch off. Or maybe it is just a kid pining for his mum - as the cover art suggests? Whatever the route, it is uplifting and addictive.

Formed in late 2017 by Jordi van Dyk, Pete Coggan, Chris Smyth and Jack Kircher Dutchkid has a sackful of indie pop melodies racking up impressive listening numbers.

Following their first three singles -Wildflower, Temporary, and Glow -the collective went straight for the jugular on their highly successful EP, Empires, leading them to have over a million streams in the first three months, be featured as Apple Music’s New Artist Spotlight of the Month, placement on several Spotify Official playlists including New Music Friday, and have radio play on BBC Introducing for the singles Wildflower and Temporary (Acoustic).
After fierce competition from thirteen different record labels, the collective signed a recording deal in early 2019 with the New York City-based Ultra Music.
A tour is on the cards in December, I suggest you be on that list.
