Castells

Castells are a four-person band which creates and produces insanely addictive music, blended with elements of Rock and Indie. ‘Calling Me Out’ is the latest track to be released and it’s absolutely incredible. The vocals are fresh and filled to the brim with emotion. Instrumentation is equally on point, many guitar riffs and percussion running riot for the three-minute duration. This track is most definitely something you should tune in to, to kick off your week in style!

Georgia Phoenix

Next up, we switch the style up and tune in to some essential Drum n Bass. Georgia Phoenix’s track ‘Selecta’ should be in your music libraries. The track kicks off in extremely ambient fashion, before the unison of classic drum patterns and crazy experimental synths take the stage to give us something we’ve never really experienced before. It’s a perfect track for multiple scenarios. I can see this being used to knuckle down and focus, to rave and dance to, and I’m sure the majority of people who tune into this one will have a different habitat for it, encapsulating the beauty of true DnB. Tune in now!

Harvey Marwood

‘Cognition’ is the latest project from the young emcee. I love this record, primarily because you can hear how hungry he is in each and every track. An incredibly talented lyricist, being able to string a plethora of different rhyme schemes and cadences to form the perfect song. Harvey is an extremely introspective artist, with his ability to cover some of the most hard-hitting and intricate topics, yet still being such a quality MC in his songwriting. Be sure to tune into the six-track project. I’m sure that Harvey has an incredibly bright future ahead of him.

APRE

‘Without Your Love’ by APRE… there isn’t enough words to explain how much I have been loving this track recently, it’s a super upbeat and energetic record, with an anthemic sound. There are so many small details and layers to fall in love with upon each listen. The vocals are active and dynamic, a la Empire of the Sun. When you tune into this one, wherever you are, it will fill up the room with joy and vibrance. Super enjoyable. Be sure to stay tuned for their newest release, ‘Always In My Head’, coming on the 6th of November 2020.

Yas VW

I’ve also taken an extreme liking to the new single from Yas VW called, ‘Weakness’. Super melodic and extremely serene. It would be rude not to kick things off with identifying how incredible her voice is - like liquid gold, reminiscent of a Jhene Aiko or an Amaria.

‘Weakness’ delves into some pretty relatable topics, giving an added element towards the music - where listeners can find a deeper avenue to enjoy the record. From early stages, you can tell that Yas VW has an extremely bright future, and I’m here to see her inevitable rise to the top.

David GotSound

Following that, we have the new alternative rap release from David GotSound, ‘The Mountains’.

It is a seven-track EP lasting 20 minutes, and it’s the perfect showcase of his immense and untapped potential. Listening through a couple times, simple takeaways from the project are that he’s a super spirited and perceptive rapper. He’s got an immensely smooth flow, and he portrays this like it isn’t even a challenge. Yet, when you dissect the lyrics and rhyme scheme, you’re left wondering how he has managed to include this much detail in his lyrics whilst making the track sound so awe-inspiring. Stream and tune into ‘The Mountains’ now!
