City Feast Canterbury continues Street Food boom with indoor pop-up
The Team behind the Uber Successful City Feast Canterbury has taken their street food sensation indoors
After a monstrous two-month run of summer weekends packed with the best streetfood vendors around, City Feast Canterbury have continued their legacy of bringing top tray tucker to the city by opening an indoor pop-up.
Available for eat-in or take-away, the Orange Street location houses Kent favourites Rad Burger, sweet treat purveyors Churros Frescos and new concept Just Wing It.
With spacious seating and a slick online ordering and menu system, social distancing and minimal contact is easy, without being obtrusive, making for a really vibrant atmosphere.
The in-house City Feast bar stocks a range of drinks from Kent creators like the Kenitsh Pip Skylark, through to Brixton Brewery’s Coldharbour Lager, Brewdog’s Elvis Juice and Founders Stone wines and Revilo Prosecco - not to mention a wicked selection of craft cocktails that diners would have encountered during the summer event.
Rad Burger brings its crowd pleasers in the form of Hyper Burger and the Rad Chicken, but with some relative newbies like the Radical Burger (chuck steak patty, halloumi, smoked streaky bacon and mango chutney), and the Rad Dog (pork frankfurter with triple American cheese).
But on this particular visit, the new Just Wing It option smashed it out of the park with a combo of wings and tenders to make your mouth sizzle.
The Buffalo & Blue Cheese Chicken Tenders got a zing that was ramped up with some crispy AF cajun fries. Boom. The vegan option was also sensational - Vegan “WIngs” made from pulled jackfruit in a wheatflour crumb and around a sugar cane “bone” - and we opted for a katsu curry sauce to top it. Easy-to-eat, melt-in-mouth stuff.
Other sauce options include the Habenero Hot Sauce, Caesar, Miso, Sweet & Smokey BBQ and the eye-watering Volcanic Hot (Five Chilli Rating!!!). Be warned.
But don’t worry, you can cool everything own with a beautiful red cabbage slaw and sweet potato fries. Wawawoowoo. Scrantacular.
