Art Beats Series 2020 comes to Kent cinemas

Academy Award®-winner Jeremy Irons, BAFTA winner Helena Bonham Carter and Actor Toni Servillo featuring in the Art Beats Series 2020, an unmissable season of three fine-art documentaries, coming to selected screens from February

In partnership with Nexo Digital, CinEvents brings the Art Beats Series 2020, a season of three fine-art documentaries, to select cinemas across the UK & Ireland. The series will be shown on set dates from February and will take audiences on a journey through the history of art, showcasing centuries of artists and their masterpieces in Venice, Madrid and St Petersburg. 

Booking is key as each of these films will be showing once at these Kent-based cinemas:

The series includes: 

- TINTORETTO: A REBEL IN VENICE, narrated by BAFTA Award-winner Helena Bonham Carter, kicks off the season, screening in select cinemas from the 26 February. 

This beautifully curated documentary-film marks the anniversary of Tintoretto’s 500th birthday, celebrating the painter that never left Venice. The film guides audiences through the key locations which act as a retelling of Jacopo Robusti’s (Tintoretto) life events and weaves a rich tapestry of Venice in the fascinating period of the 16th Century. TINTORETTO. A REBEL IN VENICE is produced by Sky Arts Production Hub, the commissioning and production center of excellence that focuses on creating pan-European art and cultural event programming.

- THE PRADO MUSEUM: A COLLECTION OF WONDERS, makes its way to the big screen on the 28 April, narrated by Academy Award® winner Jeremy Irons. 

Viewers are taken on an immersive experience through the rooms, stories and emotions of this home and temple of world art, which holds over 7000 treasures. In celebration of its 200th Anniversary, this documentary will explore the history of the Prado in Madrid and its collections which tell stories of kings, queens, dynasties, wars, defeats and victories. The feelings and emotions of the men and women of yesteryear and of today, whose lives are intertwined with the museum’s: rulers, painters, artists, architects, collectors, curators, intellectuals, visitors will also be told through visual storytelling.

- HERMITAGE: THE POWER OF ART is the final installment of the season, with actor Toni Servillo leading the way around St Petersburg and its Hermitage on the 3 June.  

With three million works of art and over 4.2 million visitors every year, the Hermitage is one of the most visited museums in the world. Dedicated to this extraordinary place Hermitage: The Power of Art, is an original 3D Produzioni and Nexo Digital production, in collaboration with Sky Art. With a focus on Russian history and the cultural events that led to the development of The Hermitage and its collections, the film allows viewers to breathe in the essence and the Baltic spirit of St Petersburg. Spectacular images take us through the magnificent interiors of the Museum and the Winter Palace as well as Staraya Dereva, which houses the largest collection of Matisse paintings in the world.
