We have added all tracks to the ‘cene #KeepitKent Spotify Playlist HERE

YOUTH SECTOR - HANDS

”Once hailing from Maidstone and Hythe (though now Brighton is in the mix too), Youth Sector have been an indie beacon on the south eastern horizon bagging national attention for some time. From their 2020 EP ‘Mundanity’, new track ‘Hands’ has the group has channelling some Talking heads funk guitar with futuristic vocals and zapping keyboards. Rhetorical questions a plenty have you pausing for some Baz Lurman-esque thoughts. I think I like it, I think I like it, I think I like it here.”

DUX & FIVE FILO - SHOW ME WHAT U GOT

”I never quite understood why Will Smith used to get stick for his hip hop career. He was a legit master at creating catchy summer vibe classics. With ‘Show Me What You Got’, Kent MC DUX - alongside multi-instrumentalist Five Filo - has produced a feel good track destined for a windows down and system up road trip. There is craft, infectious hook and lyrics to learn with your hands in the air. Another example of the range of genres that this guy can boss.”

BILLY BLOND - DAY DRINKING

“A tale of loneliness that is matched by the beautiful complexity and twitching pace of the music, ‘Day Dreaming’ feels like a mixture of sadness, release and new discovery.

Margate’s Billy Blond has orchestrated a dreamy pop hook that is with splashed with his soul-filled vocals that i’ve seen compared to Sam Smith. Nah, Billy has a deeper and more mean twang of a Tennessee country pop. It’s fu**ing brilliant.”

FALLE NIOKE & GHOST CULTURE - MOUNEMOUMA

“From their joint EP ‘YouKounkoun’, Cliftonville’s Falle Nioke and electronic dance producer Ghost Culture have created something simply jaw dropping.
Finessed with the high-end production skills of Ghost Culture, Falle Nioke brings the rhythm and rhyme from West Africa into a cultural mix that I’ve never heard anything like before. Drums, steels and meandering vocals make ‘Mounemouma’ a track that could easily be used for a chill out session, as well as a club hit. Remarkable.”
