LARRY PINK THE HUMAN - ELEVEN11_GTR_SONG

LARRY PINK THE HUMAN have released new track ‘ELEVEN11_GTR_SONG’, a hook-heavy power pop conversational-style piece released through their own Brainsoup label.

Described as an “anthemic shot of vulnerability which lays its foundations upon the truism that all of us are reliant upon the support of those around us; a declaration of faith in humanity at a time when the world feels more polarised than ever before”.

The band, which is made up of Laurie Vincent (Slaves) and award-winning producer Jolyon Thomas, said: “If the last year has shown us anything it’s that we can live without many things, but to be away from our closest companions is the biggest challenge of all. We wanted to write about the ones that are with us and the ones that are not, and show how much we appreciate them. When it’s all said and done, everybody needs someone.”

LARRY PINK THE HUMAN began as a collection of songs which were written by Laurie during a time of deep personal loss, which he then presented to producer Jolyon Thomas, before the duo started the journey to become LARRY PINK THE HUMAN.

Jolyon, whose previous production credits include Kendrick Lamar’s Damn LP, as well as albums with U2, M83 & Royal Blood (with whom he won 2018’s MPG Breakthrough Producer of the Year), elevated these heartfelt tracks into technicolored anthems that are representative of LPTH’s ethos: disregarding genre constraints in favour of creative freedom. Companionship.

KAVANAGH - CITIZEN 202

Herne Bay rock outfit Kavanagh have delved into their box of ripped jeans and splitting cardigans to release and absolute gem of a track channeling all the disillusioned angst of 90s Grunge.
’Citizen 202’ is said to be “about escaping the idiosyncrasies of humanity and being a member of the universe instead, simply a part of creation. More than a human.”

Vocals spat out over distorted guitars and a continually soaring melody, ‘Citizen 202’ is short and bitter. We love it. Intergalactic.

ISSEY CROSS - FUNFAIR

Issey Cross continues a rich release schedule in 2021 with the passionate new track ‘Funfair’.

Taken from debut EP ‘Mirrors Don’t Lie’, which is out today, the alt-pop artist will have your genre radar in a spin with “funfair’ encompassing a very urban beat, R&B melody, distinctive vocals and lyrics brimming with experience for one so young.

The Tunbridge Wells singer has burst onto the scene this year with singles ‘Boys Make Promises’ and ‘Who’, hatching a very unique sound. Though her hair maybe two-toned, she is a total individual. Original.

HARRY SHOTTA & Erb n dub - BREAKAWAY

Instagram: @therealharryshotta

A coming of age track, Harry Shotta, the man who has blown us away with his lyrical prowess and skill for so many years, has slowed things down and taken stock both musically and emotionally in new track ‘Breakaway’.

Taken from the ‘Growth’ EP, the Gravesend rapper talks about his need to be individual, take responsibility and do things on his own terms. Not just an inquest into his own thoughts and actions, the change in style is notable. More in-line with traditional hip hop (if there is such a thing), he maintains his proudly UK rap style, but it is a fair jump away from the DnB forms that he is most recently known for. It is totally engrossing. Direction.
