Having bravely opened in the midst of the pandemic last year, in September 2020, it wasn’t long before independent arts and gifting shop Platform had to close its doors again. But, finally they’re able to reopen.

Based around the corner from Canterbury West station, on St Dunstan’s St, the curated range of art, print and products is designed to put local artists on a ‘Platform’ (we see what they’ve done there).

From Faversham-based vegan skincare range Floragy, to Whitstable’s ceramicist Ellen Hayward, the store sells local products perfect for adding a bit style and substance to your home.

Also, look out for the range of Berber rugs carefully curated by founders Jenny and Jack, which are absolute one-offs and will bring the “allure of the Atlas Mountains to your home”.

The gallery includes works by Tenterden’s landscape artist Karl Terry and Swale’s Paul Fowler, as well as vibrant contemporary pieces by Deal’s Ned Kelly (see our interview with Ned Kelly here), Lesley Davies-Evans and David Ferry. They also showcase exclusive works by Jim Moir, aka Vic Reeves.

Independent brands stocked include Vicky Hageman, Margo Sleby, Join Store London, Kate Jones Knitwwear, Kinshipped, Row Pinto, Homefolk as well as many others.
