As the excitement builds towards the 149th Open Golf tournament taking place at Royal St. George’s in Sandwich, Betteshanger Country Park is preparing a golf-themed foodie weekend for all to enjoy in the park’s beautiful surroundings.

From 11am to 8pm on Friday 16th and Sunday 18th July, sports fans and families looking for a fun day out are welcome at the park to watch the final rounds of the live event on the big screen in their huge amphitheatre, and sample a delicious array of local food and drink.

Situated a stone’s throw from the famous links course, the park is the closest you’ll get to one of the biggest sporting events in the world!

Golf fans will be able to sit back and soak up the atmosphere, with social distancing precautions in place, and enjoy delicious food served from street food stalls, courtesy of City Feast. There will also be a boutique bar serving up your favourite Kentish brews and refreshing cocktails.

And there’s something for every member of the family - test out your own golfing skills with our mini golf course, join a long range putting competition, try your luck on our inflatable golf dartboard, and take a swing at our driving range simulator!

Other attractions include funfair rides and bouncy castle, as well as all the usual Betteshanger Park activities such as cycling and geocaching for those less interested in the sport.

The event is free to enter. Car parking charges and admission prices for some rides and activities will apply.  Social distancing and sanitising stations will be implemented as part of Covid-19 safety protocols.
