A new restaurant aimed at training up the next generation of chefs is getting ready to open its doors.

Anne’s Restaurant - tipped to be a fine dining experience - is in the final stages of development, but expected to launch in Shorncliffe Road in Folkestone later this year.

The brainchild of East Kent College, the new venue is being set up to provide training opportunities for aspiring chefs and front-of-house professionals.

It is based on the model of the acclaimed four-star Yarrow in Broadstairs, a boutique spa hotel which has been named among the best in Kent.

Anne’s - named after the recently retired deputy chief executive officer of EKC Anne Leese - will provide students with the chance to gain practical experience in a commercial setting alongside highly skilled professional staff.

More than 22 jobs for residents will be on offer.

The college says for students studying catering and hospitality at Folkestone College, Anne’s will play a pivotal role in helping them gain the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to thrive in their chosen careers.

Anne’s Restaurant general manager Steven Hayes says he and his team are excited to help inspire the next generation of hospitality professionals and give them the best start to their futures.

“We can’t wait to welcome the community through our doors and share our delicious new menu,” he added.
