Faversham Literary Festival line-up Announced

Highlights include award-winning poet Hollie McNish, punk poet John Cooper Clarke, Beans on Toast, Mark Billingham and Primal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie

The full festival programme of the 2022 Faversham Literary Festival is now available and there are some amazing personalities signed up.

Opening the festival is 12-year-old Kent schoolboy and aspiring chef Alfred Moisan, whose In Conversation With – interviews with 70 of his culinary heroes around the world to raise money for a food charity during lockdown – in week one reportedly outsold Mary Berry! What's more, three contributors to the book are local to Faversham and will be on the panel with him: Stephen Harris from the Michelin-starred The Sportsman in Whitstable; and Faversham residents Jane Beedle (Great British Bake-Off runner-up) and Henry Jeffreys. Inspiration and fun for all the family!

Other family highlights: the authors of Waterstones' Gift Book of the Year will be talking to local children's author Lucy Strange about lighthouses, sharks, and gorgeous illustrations; and award-winning author and illustrator Rob Biddulph will be coming to Faversham. Rob helped everyone get through lockdown with his #DrawWithRob videos – winner of the Guinness World Record for an online art lesson, with over 45,000 people participating. Wow!

Unmissable spoken word and award-winning poet Hollie McNish will be bringing strong language and laughs to the Alexander Centre on Saturday 19 Feb; also in the Alexander Centre, Primal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie; plus best-selling crime writer Mark Billingham talks to festival regular William Shaw in the Shepherd Neame Old Brewery Store.

All festival venues will comply with Covid-19 regulations in place at the time, and we will be taking care to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable festival. Regular updates will be made available on the website as required.

Tickets are available from 9am on Wednesday 22 December: www.favershamliteraryfestival.org
