Maidstone Fringe Festival is making a welcome return this spring with a variety of live performances at venues across the town.

Organiser Clive Austen, who runs Make Some Noise studio in Granville Road, had to cancel it’s 10th year in 2020 and then again in 2021 due to the pandemic.

But this year, the five-day event is back with a bang, running over the May Bank Holiday, from Thursday, April 28 to Monday, May 2.

Mr Austen says the festival will celebrate the diversity of live music and venues in the county town.

“There is a strong musical element to the festival, with a focus on original Kent-based talent, from indie and alternative rock, psychedelia, through to ska, blues, acoustic/folk, pop and soul, DJ events and performance poetry/spoken word,” he adds.

Confirmed venues include The Style & Winch, Market House, Frederic, The Made Inn, The Flower Pot, Drakes, The Duke Of Marlborough, The Rifle Volunteers and The Coach House.

Already confirmed to play are psychedelic rock band Queen Phosphene, Toot n’ Skamen, The Sweetchunks Band, Band of Rogues and Spinner.
