FLORENCE ARMAN - STUPID HEART

Florence Arman returns today with an incredibly honest yet emotional, self-reflective alt-pop single “Stupid Heart.” Heart-on-the-sleeve to its core it has playful yet emotional lyrics and engaging vocals over a sombre keys and a chilled drum beat. Florence, from Hythe, said:  “Stupid Heart' is the first song I wrote about family stuff.  Being the youngest in my family I think I’ve inherited a bit of baggage, which is normal I think and totally fine, but then again I still want to be able to write very dramatic songs about it."

Having released debut EP ”Out Of The Blue” last year, Florence has since begun touring extensively in 2022 including pitstops at The Great Escape, Eurosonic, and more recently at Mad Coo. She is also confirmed for Reeperbahn and Lollapalooza, both in Germany as well as supporting indie superstars Milky Chance on their European tour dates in October.

WEAKATTHEKNEES - SONG FOR A SPORTS GAME

Maidstone’s weakattheknees has released his candidly named track SONG FOR A SPORTS GAME, that pounds on the doors of the UK rock institutions with heavy drums and trashing riffs.

The alt-rocker, real name Dean Ince, challenges society and the issues people are facing, like not being able to own a house, or the divide between the haves and have-nots.

He said: “I wrote this song after briefing myself to write something that sounds like it could be on FIFA, but a little heavier. This song also talks about the challenges we face today in such difficult times.”

With elements of Royal Blood, weakattheknees has his own style, even throwing a bit of rappy vocals in track WHAT THE HELL IS THIS? which is part of debut album PEOPLE DON’T HAVE THE PATIENCE TO LISTEN TO ALBUMS ANYMORE (BUT THIS ONE GOT RELEASED ANYWAY…) due for release on November 25th.. “if everything goes to plan!”.

JEFF2JEFF - ROZE YARD

FB: @jeff2jeffmusic

The Medway Towns duo Jeff2Jeff have delivered their second release of the year after ‘The Genius’ back in the Spring. This time it’s on the Shaker Plates label, featuring a nice groovy Techhouse cut and a dub version. It comes together with a remix by label owner Gunman that has created a more techno interpretation for the dancefloor.

The pair, who have been playing out live for years, have seemingly found their production juices in 2022 and are hitting the right notes across varied house genres. They have a knack for creating enduring, ‘keep it flowing’ tracks to enjoy with a bevvie in hand. See them perform live at Outlet Summer Sessions this August Bank Holiday.

THE SLOPES - STREETS DON’T WALK THEY TALK

Insta: @theslopes_

Margate maestro The Slopes has returned with new EP Streets Don’t Walk They Talk.

Right from the off, in opening track Intro, you can tell that there is a more complete sound. Production has gone up a level since previous tracks like Mushroom Tune, and the atmospherics that we felt on breakout track Wasted Time now make their way throughout the EP. Pacy single Changes find its place on the EP, to show off Joel Jackson’s stylistic flexibility, while the encapsulating Girl in Hackney is a small work of genius with its stirring memoir about drugs and the intoxication of infatuation.

Every track is a surprise, with a different vibe helping you to navigate the peaks and troughs of The Slopes’ mind.
