Luke Wright tops the bill at the Tunbridge Wells Poetry Festival next month as online and staged events combine to offer poetry lovers well beyond the Kent spa town a host of unique experiences.

The packed Festival programme offers "poetry for all, big or small" and runs from Sunday August 15 to Friday August 27 with a wide variety of reading events, workshops and performances.

Wright's third collection The Feel-Good Movie of the Year is out now and he will also be performing pieces from The Ballad Seller, in which he takes Georgian street ballads and reproduces them for the modern ear.

The Festival offers a mixture of online and face-to-face events and the organisers have worked with the venues to ensure that all UK government guidelines are followed.

Festival organiser Charlie Bell said: "It's fantastic to be able to offer such a varied programme with something for all ages and tastes. We also have several open mic opportunities where aspiring poets can showcase their work. The past year means we have all got used to remote working and socialising so it made sense to open up some of the programme to anyone with an internet connection."
