The Margate Queer Comedy Club Launches at Where Else Margate.

Award-winning stand-up comedian and writer Charlie George (@charliegeorgecomedy), has recently taken part in a residency with Margate Pride in association with Crate Studios, to develop a brand new Queer friendly Comedy Night for Margate.

She is launching her new night: The Margate Queer Comedy Club on Thursday 13th April at Where Else venue in central Margate.

The Margate Queer Comedy Club focuses on bringing the best talent together and creating a safe and inclusive atmosphere for audiences and performers in a specially curated evening that is warm, welcoming and, above all, funny.

Five incredible acts hot from the comedy circuit will light up the stage, for a quality evening of diverse entertainment from stand-up, to music, to drag - as long as it's funny and fabulous!

Charlie currently MCs and hosts a regular monthly Queer Comedy Night at The Glory in London called Clandestina a queer women, trans and non-binary-led comedy show founded by comedian Victoria Olsina.

Charlie is the winner of the LGTBQ+ Comedian of the Year award 2019 & So You Think You’re Funny & Funny Women Awards runner-up.

Charlie has performed stand-up on BBC Asian Network Live, Comedy Central and the Stand Up Sketch Show and has written for Charlie Brooker, Frankie Boyle & Joe Lycett.

She is a queer, mixed-race, working class stand-up comedian and writer who now lives in Margate & gigs all across the UK.

Charlie wants to carve a space on the comedy circuit proffering an antidote to the so-called “culture wars,” by creating space for unity and celebration, rather than division.
