Dover's Marina Curve welcomes Pedaler on The Port

The Canterbury cult favourite, The Independent Pedaler (@theindiepedaler), has now opened its doors on Dover’s Marina Curve.

Previously based in Canterbury, the Independent Pedaler has moved onto a new challenge, relocating to several new sites, including the Marina Curve.

Operating under the new name, Pedaler on the Port, they’ve set up shop in the 1893 lifeboat house on Clock Tower Square. The beautiful historic building is a fitting location to establish a community-oriented business, serving as a meeting point people for local people, and providing a relaxed environment offering local produce, quality coffee and a community space to meet, eat and drink.

The Independent Pedaler brand was originally established five years ago by Aaron Hudson-Tyreman, to meet and discuss bike racing with his friends. Aaron, who has competed in bike races and triathlons around the world, has also birthed an Independent Pedaler cycling team, which has won 21 individual National titles and 7 team titles.

Today, the community still sits at the heart of The Independent Pedaler, as a place where everyone is welcome to gather and catch up. They also regularly work on projects with local schools and charities. The Independent Pedaler focuses on quality coffee and food made from scratch and is known for its fresh cake that’s always made on site.

Aaron said: “I am thrilled to be opening Pedaler on the Port in the old lifeboat house on the Marina Curve and to introduce many of our customers to this amazing space in Dover. Having found marked success in Canterbury, we’re excited to be set up within the Dover community and to be on this beautiful spot on the seafront.

It’s an exciting time for the Independent Pedlar brand, as we set up another space in the Manston area, before kicking off another project to open a Bar and Grill, also on the Curve. With the amazing support we have from our customers and the Port of Dover we think the Marina Curve can be one of the major destinations for visitors in East Kent.”
