Astronaut Tim Peake and Heartstoppers author headline Faversham Lit Fest 2024

Hollie McNish, Alice Oseman and Jeanette Winterson in the first line-up announcement

The first few acts of the 2024 Faversham Literary festival have been announced, with a couple of announcements set to take you out of this world.

Taking place 16th–25th February 2024, the festival has become one of the key literary events in the county.

This year, guests will be able to meet an astronaut! Tim Peake is the first British astronaut to have visited the International Space Station and, as announced recently, will be leading the first all-UK astronaut mission. He will be talking to Julia Wheeler about his new book Space. This event is suitable for families.

On Saturday 24th Feb, internationally bestselling author Jeanette Winterson will be sharing tales from Night Side of the River. Dynamic, erudite and high-energy, Jeanette’s events are not to be missed.

Exciting news for teens and young adults... Kent’s Alice Oseman, author of the global bestseller Heartstoppers, is coming to Faversham. Heartstopper Volume 5 is out in print this month – is your son or daughter a fan? Reserve a book/ticket for their chance to meet the author!

Faversham is also the first stop on Hollie McNish's new Lobster tour for 2024! She will be performing from her new collection Lobster and other things I’m learning to love, and books will be available to pre-order ahead of publication (it's not out in the shops until 14th March). Michael Pedersen will be joining her on stage.

The full programme and details of when tickets will be available will follow soon.

Tickets are on general sale from www.favershamliteraryfestival.org
