For one night only Queen of Cups chef Ayesha Kalaji and award-winning head chef of The Dog at Wingham Rob Mantegna will collaborate on an exclusive Middle Eastern menu.

Executive chef and owner of Queen of Cups in Glastonbury, Ayesha Kalaji is renowned for her appearance on MasterChef: The Professionals and will be heading to the Canterbury village for a celebration dinner on April 25th.

Joining with Mantenga, diners can look forward to an exclusive menu featuring dishes such as:

  • Kibbeh nayeh Hand chopped lamb tartare, smoked rapeseed dressing, spiced honey cured egg yolk and savoury bazarek

  • Berber spiced beef, jewelled moghrabieh, mulukhiya sauce and green shatta

  • Fig leaf basbousa, tahini and green cardamom ice cream, pine nut brittle and seasonal poached fruit

Taking influence from her Jordanian roots, Ayesha has a totally distinctive style of cooking.

“My dishes are not authentically Middle Eastern – they are my own interpretation,” she says. “It is food seen through my lens. I cannot wait to get in the kitchen with Rob and meet the lovely people of Wingham! It’s a real pleasure to be invited to such a well-loved and highly regarded gastropub.  It’s going to be a really fabulous night.”

The Dog at Wingham, which came 16th in Estrella Damm's Top 50 Gastropubs for 2024 earlier this year, already holds 2 AA Rosettes for its restaurant.

Rob Mantegna added: “It’s going to be wonderful to welcome Ayesha to The Dog. Her unique style of cooking, the unusual and colourful ingredients she uses, as well as her sheer enthusiasm is very exciting. Creating this menu together has been a real treat and I just know this is going to be night to remember.”

This five course menu costs £60 per person with tickets available to buy now.
