Rochester Independent College Open Morning 2024

Supported Article: Meet staff and students and take a tour of the campus

There is a chance to find out what makes Rochester Independent Collect different this Spring time, with an Open Morning on Saturday March 2nd (10am-12pm).

Talk to teachers and students about what it's like to be a RIC student and how the small classes help students settle quickly and excel both academically and creatively.

Arrivals at the open morning are flexible, however it is recommended that you turn up no later than 11am to give you enough time to get a real taste of what RIC has to offer.

Informal in style, there will be plenty of opportunity to speak to the heads of school, subject teachers and current students in a relaxed environment. You will also be welcome to take a tour around our campus so you can see all our facilities in the (mainly) listed buildings and award winning wildlife gardens.

Refreshments will be available all morning in our refectory.

Key Features

• Academically non-selective. There are no school entrance tests.

* High performing, RIC’s exam results regularly match or exceed those of highly selective schools.

* Small classes with lots of individual attention (average 8, maximum 12).

* No school uniform. A friendly, inclusive atmosphere.

* Academic and creative. Emphasis is firmly on core subjects but with an unusually wide variety of creative arts subjects.

"The students are a strikingly nice bunch. It’s a place for individuals, and there’s a lovely air of tolerance and warmth." Good Schools Guide

“At Rochester it’s really easy to fit in and make friends. People come from so many different backgrounds and there aren’t the same pressures to conform. I’ve never been so happy at school.” Current student
